You know exactly who they are and what they do as soon as you hear their name. They’re one of the biggest food names in the world, but they’re also one of the most intuitive brands with digital marketing and social media.
Taco Bell was the first chain restaurant to utilise Instagram advertising. They were the first fast food chain to be on Snapchat and they were one of the first on Vine.
After the initial release of Instagram advertising, Taco Bell’s creative agency invested millions into it. A full concept shoot was set up, with brainstorm sessions, concept sketches, food stylists and photographers – all for a set of sponsored photos on Instagram featuring their waffle taco.
Why would one of the most well know food chains do this? Well, they reached 12.5 million 18-44 year olds in the U.S.A alone. The real kicker though: they received a 29 point increase in ad recall – which is four times higher than control.
That’s why digital marketing is so special. It’s constantly changing, there’s continuous advances and fresh platforms. The trick is keeping up with it. As the people move with the millennium, brands need to too. You go where the people are, right?
