This time last year, We Are Anthology teamed up with NZ Breast Cancer Foundation to help spread the word about October Breast Cancer Awareness Month and increase donations through text.
As a cause that’s close to our hearts, the team here at We Are Anthology volunteered our time to bring onboard a bunch of our favourite influencers to donate some social media real estate to the cause.
In the eight days from the 7th to 15th of October 2015, we had over 35 influencers create over 40 pieces of content asking their audience to text ‘PINK’ to 4644 and donate $3. Collectively, we received just under 4,000 likes and 230 comments on Facebook and Instagram, while three influencers also created blog posts to spread the word.
We want to thank all of the influencers who helped share the message last year, and hope that we can all put in as much effort this year. It’s a scary statistic where today 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and this year, over 600 women will most likely die. Yet, 30% of eligible women aren’t enrolled in free screening and 60% of young women don’t know the signs beyond a lump. We need to fix this and lower these numbers. Hands up if you’re onboard to help out!
